What do you do?
What do you do when a colleague is getting the shaft? When there are people that run the things where you work that do not operate honestly, ethically or lawfully? What do you do when you are just a regular Joe, trying to survive? What do you do when you are told to just "go along" with the party line, even when you know it is wrong. What do you do when the economy is so bad and to speak out might result in losing your job? Because the powers that be aren't acting professionally? Or even legally? What if the community in which you live and work doesn't know the things that are going on behind closed doors? When they'll feed the community a pack of lies and will gloss over the things that they are doing that are really harmful. What do you do?

This is a hard one and one of the hardest things about a work environment versus a family. In a family you can just say knock it off and while somebody may get hurt feelings, they eventually get over it and you can't fire your family. I guess I would express my support to the person and if the opportunity arises in a public setting so you cannot be misquoted, you can do it there too. As you know, we have gone through these types of things multiple times and there is usually not a happy outcome. As I am sure you are also aware, there are no shortage of people today who will not willingly step on anyone to get to the top or to make themselves look better. Love,Mom
