Alfredo Sauce

My sis asked how I make Alfredo sauce. I rarely use a recipe, and if I do, I follow it very loosely and tend to add stuff as well. So here goes:

Hot pan
chopped or slivered garlic heated in hot pan until fragrant
cream (about a pint)
reduce but do not allow to boil
add parmesan cheese (about a handful or to taste)
whisk, whisk, whisk
pepper and salt to taste
remove from heat

sauce will thicken as it stands

My other sister also makes a mean Alfredo sauce but she uses different ingredients, and hers tastes exactly like Olive Garden Alfredo sauce. So yummy. That one is in the family cookbook, I believe.

However you make it, it is one of those true joys in life. Yum!!!
