Oh Christmas Tree . . .

It is that time of year again. We went for our Christmas tree at the usual spot. It was colder than snot. We slogged around on the icy ground for the perfect tree. All the trees were super expensive. Even the small ones were $40.00! S. found this little guy, and size is a consideration in our tiny house, it didn't have a price tag, so C. asked the lot attendant how much. The guy looked at it and said, $15.00. Sold! Hope the poor little guy lasts until Christmas.

We had a great time decorating. S. gets better at ornament placement each year. We listened to Christmas songs on Pandora. C. was content to sit back and eat Satusumas and Spritz cookies and let us gals do the sprucing. He said that he carried it to the truck, carried it to the back patio, put it on the stand, and hung the lights, that was all he was doing. So he supervised from the arm chair, while feeding his face.

On another note, you should never let your husband make up alternative words to Christmas songs. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer came up on the radio while we were decorating. And of course he added the asides . . .

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer
had a very shiny nose
and if you ever saw it, you would even say it glowed (like a lightbulb)
all of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names (like Pinocchio)
they never let poor Rudolph, join in any reindeer games (like Monopoly)

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
"Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight"

Then all the reindeer loved him
and they shouted out with glee (yippeee!)
"Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, you'll go down in history!" (like Stalin)

Like Stalin? See what I mean? Dangerous. Not only does he not help hang ornaments, he appoints himself the official arm-chair wise-ass of the Christmas season.
